Among many roles I take on, I take immense pride in being the CEO and Owner of Douglas Tax Solutions.

My story starts in the lively streets of the Bronx, NY, where I was raised by my lovely grandmother. I hail from the modest beginnings, and my life’s path has been a winding one.

Balancing a full-time job as a legal assistant during the day, pursuing my studies in accounting during the evenings and weekends, all while raising my three children as a single parent - life didn’t hold back on its challenges, and I’ve had my fair share of obstacles to overcome.

A major turning point occurred just over two years ago. My ongoing battle with lupus nephritis, which I’d been managing for nearly five years, took a severe turn, thrusting me into acute renal failure. This forced me to step away from my job. Despite having over two decades in the workforce, I recognized that the conventional employee route couldn’t provide the financial stability I desired, and the cycle of living paycheck to paycheck was no longer sustainable. It was a turning point, a wake up call that led me to the realization that multiple streams of income were not a luxury but a necessity in today’s world, particularly considering the unpredictability of my health.

I set out on an entrepreneurial journey, initially trying my hand at an online boutique, offering body butters, oils and sugar scrubs. I even ventured into the vending machine business. However, I soon discovered where my true passion lay - in the tax and travel industries. I launched my travel business just over a year ago, which I’m excited to soon relaunch.

Douglas Tax Solutions emerged from my profound desire to make an impact in the world of finance. With 19 years of experience handling my own taxes and assisting friends and family with theirs, combined with my background in nonprofit accounting, it was clear that I could transform my passion into legitimate businesses.

I strive to greet each day with a positive outlook, maintain my integrity, and live by the principle of lifting others as I climb. Sharing my knowledge and experiences, and aiding people in achieving their goals, has become a driving force in my life. My journey is a testament to strength and resilience, and I am eagerly looking forward to the opportunities the future has in store.
